Food

There are some many kinds of food out in the world with there being fruits, vegetables, meats, and more. There are foods for all ethnic groups as well like there is Chinese food, Mexican food, and many more.  Mostly all food can be eaten alone but people will combine different kinds of food to create a meal. Like someone may have a steak with some potatoes, mashed or baked, and some vegetables to go with it. Some of the food that is prepared all around the world can be appetizing or disgusting to different people. Everyone has different tastes to all the different kinds of food around. I am one of the people around that is super picky about what kind of food I eat and have. I don't like lots of foods and when I do like something I usually have to get it a special way because I don't like what they put with the dish. Cookies is one of my favorite foods and dessert. My favorite kind of cookie is chocolate chip and I love it when they are just made fresh because they are just so soft and just melt when in my mouth. I don't drink milk but I thought to add the glass of milk because many people who have cookies like them with milk. So I thought that the plate of cookies would look more appealing to others if the milk was in the photo. This was shot in a studio with two lights one on each side of the cookies and milk. I used a table mat and blue plate that I put the cookies on and then set everything on a small black table. I used a blue colored plate and glass because of the orange colored table mat which makes them greta opposite colors and go great together. The background in the photo I used was a white backdrop sheet and I used my Olympus E-420 camera on a tripod.

Week 9 EOC 40 Under 40 in Vegas

The In Business Las Vegas holds an event that celebrates the ones chosen for the list of 40 under 40 which is business leaders that are under the age of 40 years. This has people who are being successful in their business and have help and done stuff to help their community. When I am at the age of 40 years old, which is still quite a bit of time, I have some things that I would to be at in my life. In my personal life I want to be in my own house with my family maybe about two to three kids and married to my partner. Also being financially stable to be able to support us and pay all the bills. In my professional section at the age of 40, I plan to be thinking about open my own photography business or to have that started by just having it opened up or by getting it to almost being open like finding a location of where the business will be and getting the money needed to get started. For helping the community I plan helping the homeless people. Also help kids in the city that need help with being completely poor or with a very low income. Have it where they go to school and for the homeless, if they want, help them to get themselves back up on their feet by getting jobs for them.

                                             "Killer Honeymoon"

Photographers always try to capture the photo that will sell big and have a great story behind the photo. Just like in the movie Roman Holiday where a reporter and his photographer friend go out one day in the city with the royal princess and take pictures of her without her knowing. With some of the photos it shows her doing the activities that people go do like going to the statue that will supposedly cut your hand off if you tell lies. Also there was a photo that they got of her fighting with the police and she bashed one of them in the head with a guitar. The photos that they took they put great captions with them to put if they were to of sold these images to like newspaper or magazines. So I decided to shoot my two dolls, Chucky and Tiffany, from the movie Chucky's Bride. The idea behind this photo is to shoot that she has been abusive to him or even murdered him on their honeymoon. The reason for them being on their honeymoon because she is in a wedding gown with the hair piece. I choose to have Tiffany be the violent one is first, Chucky has cuts and stitches all over his face like he has been beaten up and second, it seems to always be the men who are the bad ones when there are women who are just as bad as men or even worse. The location is inside at the front door at my place and I am using a floor lamp I have that has six separate lights on it. I set it to have only three of the lights shooting down on the dolls. Then in Photoshop I increased the contrast, increased the clarity, and brought down the exposure a little bit. After that I put a gradient with it going white to black starting from her face going far past the image so that Chucky's face can still be seen. I shoot this at late night around probably midnight with my Olympus E-420 camera on a tripod.

Week 8 EOC Is She Fair Game?

Roman Holiday is a movie starring Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck, and Eddie Albert where Hepburn is a royal princess, Peck is a reporter, and Albert being his photographer friend. The princess, Hepburn, wants to experience the life outside of the palace that she has always been trapped in. One night she escapes the palace with no one catching her sneak out and goes into the city. Peck's character finds her and takes her to his place for the night. Then later the next morning after looking at a newspaper with the princess on the front cover he discovers that the young lady he brought home last night was the princess. Also he tells his boss that he will have a personal interview with the princess. All three of them, photographer, reporter, and princess, go an adventure in Rome for a whole day to do all the things that she has always wanted to do. The photographer takes photos of her during their day of fun and at the end of the day she goes back home. The reporter decides that he doesn't want to say anything about the princess and her day in the city because he decieved her and could ruin her name. The photographer wanted to make money off of the photos he got of the princess but decides to be like his friend, Peck, and give her the pictures he got printed. I think the way they went to not expose her fun day and all the activities she had done to the public or anyone else was a good choice. It is not a good thing to have your name ruin in society because of who you are especially when you go back to do what you are needed to do. Personally I believe the reporter went that route was because he fell for her and that doesn't seem like a good reason to give up something good for the person you like. Still I think not telling of the things the princess did was a good way to go. I believe I might of gone that way but it really may of depended on the money I would of made from that and see if it would of been worth degrading someone down.

Self Portrait-Eye

Seeing yourself in someones else eye can be a self portrait of you without getting a clear view of how you look. In the person's eye you can see yourself taking the photograph of their eye which is also taking a photograph of yourself. So I thought of taking a photo of my son's eye because he is a a part of me. Thought would be cool to shoot someone's eye who is blood related to me because it is like you are shooting into your own eye. It is like getting a self portrait of your eye and your body inside the eye to get a feel of a regular self portrait photograph of you facing towards the camera. Did get about one picture that was the best out of all of them but don't think it was the best choice to pick. So then I decided to shoot my younger brother's eye. We look a like of course because of being siblings so thought this would still work for my idea of shooting myself in my own eye. This worked out better than my son because my brother isn't a baby who likes to move all the time. Can view the picture with my son's eye in the gallery. I liked the one with my brother because you can see me in his eye great. Also like how the lens of my camera is right where his pupil is. To me this photo makes me feel like I am looking straight into my own eye. I feel like this is myself taking a photo of my own eye but of course it isn't. I shot this outside with the sun being my light and had the sun on his right side and it was around 5pm or 6pm in the late afternoon. I used manual focus because having it set to auto focus it wasn't taking the photos and I used my Olympus E-420 camera.

Week 7 EOC Progress Towards My Professional Contacts

I have collected a few business cards now of bankers, accountants, insurance companies, and attorneys/lawyers. The banker business cards that I have are two different people from Wells Fargo, one from Bank of Nevada and one from US Bank. One card that I got from Wells Fargo I went in and talked to someone that I see regularly when going to the bank and ask if I could have one of his business cards. His name is Mark Salehi and he had no problem giving his card but asked what I wanted for. So I told him that I need an accountant's business card because I am building a business plan for when I am ready to start my photography business. The Other Wells Fargo card and the US Bank were just walk ins and I asked for a business card. The Bank of Nevada card I got was from the banker that I usually go to when dealing with my account. So far I only have one card for an insurance company. The company is Farmers and I already have different kinds of insurance from them so I had their business card already. I have a few more business cards from attorneys/lawyers most of them came from my mom who had these already because of going bankruptcy and other reasons. One that I have from David Francis was someone who came into my job and gave us her business card. I have a business card for an attorney that is our family's attorney who deals with important stuff of the family. His name is Scott Swain and never have spoken to him or even seen him because usually the only people who do are my older brother and aunt. The business card is not his directly but one of where he works. Some other business cards that I have are from places that print all kinds of things such as banners, postcards, and business cards. Got those from business that we deliver to. A couple others are from car dealerships and that might have nothing to do with photography but do go on location for shoots and carry all the equipment is important to have a car. So thought these are good to have since I am currently trying to find a vehicle. One business card I got from a customer I had who asked if I had a facebook and told them no. So I told him though that I will probably get one to help meet people since I am a photographer. So he gave me his business card so that when I do I could find him on facebook from his email. So far I have a good amount of business cards for a start though every chance I get I will be getting more to have a bigger range of contacts.

Paparazzi

The paparazzi photographers everyday get out to try and capture the perfect photo of a famous celebrity or icon. A famous photographer in this field of photography was Ron Galella who got many great photos of famous people. To get some of the images that he got wasn't easy by getting punched in the face and being sued and going to court for it. The person the I used is someone I work with to be my model. The reason I choose him was because he is in a band trying to get famous so I thought he would be perfect in doing this where he might know kind of on how to act and play the role. Also thought he would enjoy doing it since maybe one day he will become someone famous and have the paparazzi all over him and his band. One day we went to Caesars Palace after work so that we could go on the strip. I picked the strip because there are people there and wanted it to look like that he was someone famous with others looking at him like they know who he is. Though this didn't end up working to well with everyone looking at us and giving me looks like why am I taking their photo. The photo that I choose, along with others in my gallery, was one where I was behind him like I'm following him to his car. I like how he is looking back like he knows I'm there and trying to get away or doesn't want people to know what he is doing or has been doing. The time of day was in the late afternoon like about 6 o'clock pm. The light that I used is just the sunlight coming in from the left side using my Olympus E-420 camera.
